March 5, 2009 Meeting Minutes

Roger Clark Memorial Library Meeting Minutes – March 5, 2009
Marion, Susie, Karen, April, Sharon, and Edna were present.
Treasurer’s report was given.
  -The big news is that we received a $10,000 CD from the late Mary Georgetti  to be used for capital expenses!

-The Library fundraiser dinner on April 1 is currently oversold by one seat.  Sharon is contacting Jason at The Clear to see if we can add more.  Library committee members will be baking desserts.  We have a nice list of items for the silent auction thus far.  Sharon will be putting together creative book centerpieces.  If this becomes an annual event, we may need more space…

-The Big Read – Fahrenheit 451 - We’ll check out 10 books at the dinner and make a waiting list.  All who read will be put in a drawing for free dinner tickets next year!  Perhaps three events:  movie screening in August, book discussion in Sept. (April will coordinate), and another event in Oct.  Bonfire?

-Alvina from the post office donated 100 Edgar Allen Poe stamps.

-April 5th will be a work day with possible April committee meeting at that time.
