This five part workshop will be geared to all job seekers regardless of the job target. The focus of the workshops will help you understand and develop tools and techniques to present yourself positively to recruiters and hiring managers. Job search is more than just writing a resume and posting it online. Week 1 will focus on the steps of an effective job search – self-reflection by conducting an inventory of knowledge, skills and abilities that make one qualified for a targeted role, identifying the target job or job family, and understanding and quantifying your worth in the job market. Week 2 will be all about the communication tools needed in a search: an exit statement, a positioning statement, SOAR stories, a resume, a LinkedIn profile and a marketing plan. We will discuss the value of each in your own job search. Week 3 will focus on using the tools in networking and identifying and pursuing “hidden” job openings. Week 4 will cover the job search process: applying to jobs posted online, interviewing and keeping job prospects alive. In the final workshop we will talk about negotiating compensation and ensure that all questions are addressed. The facilitator for the workshops, Irene Sinteff, will draw on a long career in human resources as a recruiter and career coach. She has extensive experience in manufacturing, distribution and warehousing, healthcare, technology and education. Irene has been a career coach for Lee Hecht Harrison, a leading career transition services provider. For 20 years. Her clients have been seeking jobs at all levels of organizations across a variety of industries. During the 5 weeks, Irene will be available by phone, email or appointment to address your personal job search questions, concerns and progress. Please call, email or visit our Facebook page to reserve your space!
